Description
This workshop will present information to attendees on how we perceive, exercises for new ways to see the world, along with guidance and practical instruction for drawing that can reinforce ‘seeing anew’, leading to moments of inner calm while also producing drawings created with simple charcoal tools and paper supplies.
Outcome: Participants develop their own capacity for finding beauty and calm in their immediate surroundings without needing to buy anything, go anywhere, or to be in some special setting.
Workshop Details
Our vision provides about 80% of the information we receive about the world, helping us navigate, recognize people, and understand our surroundings better. At the same time, we tend to be occupied with our busy lives. This busyness is most often experienced as a continuous flow of thoughts, which tend to obscure our sense of vision to the point where we can miss what we are seeing!
Re-learning how to see, through art-related practices can bring us back to the present moment and allow us to see the world in a way we may not have witnessed since childhood.
